The Adaptation Sub-Committee provides expert advice and scrutiny through the CCC to ensure that the Government's programme for adaptation enables the UK to prepare effectively for the impacts of climate change. Reports "How well is Scotland Preparing for Climate Change?" - Adaptation Sub-Committee report to Scottish Government - November 2011 Following reports on how well the UK is prepared to deal with climate change, the ASC was asked by the Scottish Government to undertake an evaluation of how well Scotland is preparing for climate change. This report provides an independent assessment of Scotland’s preparedness for climate change, based on the ASC’s preparedness ladder. The aim of the report is to help inform the development of Scotland’s first statutory Adaptation Programme and to provide a baseline to measure future progress. This report provides the first national assessment of how well prepared the UK is to cope with the impacts of climate change through adopting measures to adapt to climate change. It sets out five priority areas for the Government to focus on in preparing their National Adaptation Programme.
