Climate Change Risk Assessment |
|
The UK’s Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA) will assess the risks (and opportunities) to the UK from current and predicted climate change. Under the Climate Change Act 2008, the Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC) has a statutory role to scrutinise and advise government on the CCRA. In addition, the ASC will scrutinise the Adaptation Economic Assessment which, although not formally specified by the Act, will be produced alongside the CCRA. They, in turn, will be used to inform adaptation policy. The ASC has provided two pieces of advice on the evolving methodology of the UK's first CCRA to Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. This can be accessed from the Reports section of the wesbite. |
