Committee on Climate Change

Independent advisors to the UK Government on tackling and preparing for climate change

Two members of the Adaptation Sub-Committee leaving

Two members of the Adaptation Sub-Committee to the Committee on Climate Change, Professor Tim Palmer and Dr Andrew Dugolecki, will be leaving their posts in the New Year. The ASC will now consist of six: Lord John Krebs (Chair), Sir Graham Wynne, Professor Sam Fankhauser, Professor Jim Hall, Professor Martin Parry and Professor Anne Johnson.

Lord Krebs said:

"I am most grateful to Tim and Andrew for their excellent contributions to the ASC over the past three years.  Tim's expertise in climate modelling and uncertainty, and Andrew's deep knowledge of the insurance sector, as well as his Scottish perspective, have been crucial to the ASC in its first two and half years.  We will continue to draw on their expert advice for specific issues".

Professor Tim Palmer is currently President of the Royal Meteorological Society, Royal Society Research Professor in climate physics at Oxford University, and Principal Scientist at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.

Dr Andrew Dlugolecki is a consultant on climate change, advising the Carbon Disclosure Project, the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative.
