Reducing emissions in Scotland - 1st Progress Report - 31st January 2012
This is the Committee's first progress report on emission reductions in Scotland, as requested by Scottish Ministers under the Climate Change (Scotland) Act (2009). The Scottish Act set a long-term target to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) by 80% relative to 1990, with an interim target to reduce emissions by 42% in 2020 relative to 1990. This report sets out our views on progress towards meeting these targets and the milestones set out for 2020 in the Scottish Government's strategy to meet targets.

Scotland's path to a low-carbon economy - 24 February 2010

Following on from the adoption of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act in August 2009, the Committee were asked to advise Scottish Minsters on issues relating to the climate change targets in the Act. "Scotland's path to a low-carbon economy" sets out the Committee's advice on how Scotland can meet its ambitious 2020 target, to reduce emissions of all greenhouse gases by 42%, and on the level of annual targets in Scotland. It also provides advice on the inclusion of aviation and shipping emissions and the use of carbon credits in Scotland, as well as on economic and social impacts of meeting the targets.
