The Adaptation Committee’s UK Climate Change Risk Assessment Evidence Report sets out the priority climate change risks and opportunities for the UK.

Introduction to the CCRA

The UK Government is required under the 2008 Climate Change Act to publish a UK-wide Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA) every five years. The Act stipulates that the Government must assess ‘the risks for the United Kingdom from the current and predicted impacts of climate change’.

Independent analysis of risks and opportunities for the UK from climate change are summarised in the Climate Change Risk Assessment synthesis report.

Technical chapters

The Climate Change Risk Assessment Evidence Report includes eight technical chapters, developed by nine independent lead contributors, 60 contributing authors and the Adaptation Sub-Committee.

Review and engagement

The Adaptation Sub-Committee engaged with key stakeholders in Government, arm’s length bodies and other organisations throughout the process of compiling the Climate Change Risk Assessment Evidence Report.
