Committee on Climate Change

Independent advice to Government on building a low-carbon economy

What can I do

What can individuals do to reduce their emissions?

Climate change is a global issue but small changes in behaviour can make a real difference particularly in improving energy efficiency in our homes and offices and reducing emissions from transport.

The Act on CO2 website  provides more information about what you can do to reduce your emissions and save money both in the home and while on the move.

The Energy Saving Trust's interactive house also provides information on what you can do in and outside the home to use energy more efficiently and reduce emissions.

By completing a Home Energy Check you could save around £340 a year.  Spend a few minutes completing the Energy Saving Trust’s questionnaire and you’ll receive a personalised report showing how much energy and money you can save in your home.

For more information on what you can do call free-phone 0800 512 012 to speak to an independent local Energy Saving Trust adviser.

How can businesses take action to reduce emissions and combat climate change?

More and more businesses in the UK and globally are recognising that taking action to reduce emissions is not only cost effective but has other benefits.

The Carbon Trust has information, practical tools and advice for businesses on how to reduce emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies.
