The Committee on Climate Change would like to congratulate its former Chief Executive David Kennedy CBE who was awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to the Environment in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
As Chief Executive of the Committee from 2008-14, David Kennedy was pivotal in establishing the CCC as an independent, effective and trusted adviser on climate change. Under his leadership, the CCC successfully influenced mitigation and adaptation policy in the UK, including the legislation of ambitious carbon budgets and fundamental reform of energy policy.
