The fifth carbon budget, covering the period 2028-2032, has now been approved by the UK Parliament. The budget will ensure the UK continues to reduce its emissions in the most cost-effective way, as we progress towards the 2050 target to reduce domestic emissions by at least 80% on 1990 levels.
