Richard Benyon on the National Adaptation Programme

During the Adaptation Sub-Committee’s recent launch of the report ‘Managing the land in a changing climate’, Richard Benyon (Minister for the Natural Environment and Fisheries), lent his support to the work of the Adaptation Sub Committee.

There is a great deal of work that is happening to respond to the challenges the committee has set out in this Report. It is good to see recognition of the Government’s newly published UK Strategy for Agricultural Technologies; a collaboration between BIS, Defra and DFID. I’m also very proud of the twelve Nature Improvement Areas across England which aim to increase the resilience of the natural environment at the landscape scale. The wide range of commitments made in the National Adaptation Programme are also set to build the UK’s resilience to a changing climate.
Input from the Adaptation Sub Committee and other organisations helps ensure that the UK is well prepared to avoid the risks and seize the opportunities presented by a changing climate. Richard Benyon MP
