This is a letter from Professor Piers Forster, interim Chair to Minister Greenwood in response to a request for the Committee’s advice on the amendment order to the zero-emission vehicle mandate and CO2 regulations for new cars and vans, pursuant to s48(1) and s48(2) of the Climate Change Act 2008.
2. Key messages
- We support the zero-emission vehicle mandate and are pleased with the inclusion of Northern Ireland in the scheme, brought about by this amendment.
- We are supportive of the level of the caps for allowances and activity based on percentages of in-year registrations.
- We are also content with the other changes to the scheme included in the amendment.
